As a graduation gift, my sister and brother (technically my brother-in-law, but who's counting?) flew me out to Washington D.C. to visit them. While there, Jeannette and I took a day-trip to New York City and had a wonderful time. I was able to experience many different things such as have dinner at Guy's American Kitchen and Bar, have dessert at Cake Boss Cafe, and walk all around Times Square and Central Park. I also had the opportunity to go to The Top of the Rock where I was able to see a lot of New York City and, from a distance, see the Statue of Liberty. The first picture below was taken from the Top of the Rock and has the Empire State Building in the background. I must say that, although it was fun to visit New York, I could not live there. I am excited for future trips to the Big Apple so that I will be able to see more and to experience other things as well.

Spring 2014 Photos First Set
The weather today was phenomenal! It is beginning to warm up here in the Springs area and that means that everything is getting green and blooming. The lighting was so beautiful this evening that I knew I just had to get out with my camera and take some shots. I was able to get a few excellent ones along with a walk covering a distance of roughly two miles.
All photos were taken at the Golden Eagle Ranch and Campground in Colorado Springs, Colorado.

Falling (Poem)
Falling
Falling.
Falling.
Falling.
That is all that I
am doing now.
I see above me a
light that burns my flesh when it touches me,
And the pain inside
begins to growl.
A dark, glassy lake
lay there beneath me,
Yet, it dare not
draw nigh.
As I fall further
into the abyss,
The voices speak to
me more and more.
Each one is so
crisp and clear,
That as each wave
nears my ear,
My throat is
closing,
And, thus, I doth
begin choking.
Choking not on
water,
Nor choking on the
air.
I am drowning in my
own hot, red blood,
And feel as if evil
is holding me in his loathsome stare.
I continue falling,
But not in any
direction.
My heart is being
grasped,
Not by mere mortal
hands,
But by this deep,
dark, lonely depression.
The blade of relief
is there in the hand,
It’s shining, yet
dull, edge glows red with obsession.
As the lashes
appear on my wrist,
The tears begin to
fall.
The pain is no
more,
But the memories
make be bawl.
I was told I was a
diamond,
And to shine bright
like a star.
This I cannot
believe,
For my whole being
has been crushed.
My heart has been
pressed, and prodded, and tried.
Not until this
moment,
Has my heart been
turned to dust.
My love for thee is
broken,
And, no more, in
you can I trust.
I finally hit the
bottom,
And the waters of
the lake surround me.
All is still and
silent,
And I drift into
sleep.
Then I finally hear
it,
It rang out ever so
sweetly.
A heavenly voice
did call to me,
As my soul sunk
downward,
Unto the bottom of
the black sea.
